Pictorial endpapers feature images from the film.<BR><BR>Original light green cloth with black lettering. Typical wear and rubbing to spine ends, board edges, and corners. Rear board water damaged with small areas of mold. Inscribed on half title by former owner. Textblock is lightly age toned; final leaf loose. Pictorial dust jacket is worn, with paper loss to edges at spine ends; splits at spine repaired with duct tape. Despite damage and wear, still a rare and desirable copy.<BR><BR>"The story of <I>King Kong </B></I>developed out of an idea that Cooper had in 1931 for a movie (working title <I>The Beast</B></I>) about a giant gorilla, tamed by man and brought back to civilisation...The earliest <I>King Kong</B></I> book actually appeared before the film, a novelisation of the story by Delos W.
