1868, Delaware. Stock certificate for 100 shares. Blue with attached adhesive revenue at top right. Vignette of a train travelling through the countryside. Issued to and signed on the stub by Henry DuPont (1812-1889). Manufacturer. The second son of E. I. duPont, he ran the family firm following his brother Alfred. During the Civil War he was an ardent supporter of the North, providing its army with gunpowder at below market prices. Glue residue at stub, some bleed through from ink on verso and rough bottom margin. Very Good. Stamp, pen and cut cancelled, DuPont's signature is unaffected.
