Delaware May 1, 1777 4d Gem New. A truly desirable example is this scarcer 1777 issue in this state of preservation. There are four abundant margins with bold signature and superb print quality. Fully punched through embossing is easily seen on the back as well. A nice piece of history as there is a very old dealer pencil notation "AK Elder 6-11-24 200." This note came from John Haseltine so this inscription almost certainly signifies that it was sold to famed numismatist Thomas Lee Elder on June 11, 1924 for the then princely sum of $2.00. How times have changed as our estimate is five hundred times that amount.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
