A billhead and a warrant for a discharged convict. 1) A. Kleinschmidt & Co., Groceries and Dry Goods, billhead. Dateline Deer Lodge, Montana, Sept. 12, 1887. Billed to the Territory of Montana. Items purchased included a coat, vest, pants, boots, underwear and a hat for discharged convict Joseph Johnson. Below itemization is a statement signed by the prison warden and Governor Leslie stating that the prisoner was "destitute of proper and sufficient clothing." 2) Territorial Warrant for $15 issued to Joseph Johnson on Sept. 12, 1887 for clothing.
