Dee Dee Ramone’s personally–owned and –worn jewelry, some of which—most notably the Mercedes medallion—is featured on the front cover of his 1989 hip-hop album Standing in the Spotlight, a record released under the rap moniker Dee Dee King. The gold–plated jewelry consists of a Mercedes-Benz medallion, two thick-braided necklace chains (approximately 25.75? and 32? unhooked), a faux diamond ring, three small chain pendants, and a dollar sign medallion (stamped on the reverse “© 1987”). The lighter weight chain necklaces seen on the front cover are absent from this grouping. In overall fine condition, with some expected wear from use. Accompanied by three images of Dee Dee wearing the jewelry, and a letter of provenance from his wife, Vera Ramone, in part: “Dee Dee got the chains and ring for Christmas, around ‘87. I’m pretty sure that’s the year because some months later, he used them for the pics on the album cover. He loved them! He even wore them to his AA meetings.”
