Manufacturer: Unknown Model: Wheellock
Produced without sights, with a zig-zag border engraved swamped muzzle, deeply cut curling horns and a grotesque face at the front and rear of the octagonal chamber, and a "crown/M" proof stamp on the top flat. Extensive floral vine and dragon-themed engraving is present on the lock and hardware, with a grotesque face on the pan cover, dual dragons on the cut-through brass wheel cover, and a deeply stamped proof of an unidentified rampant animal next to a cross on the rear. Among the equipment is a trigger-block safety, which slots into a brass cover and uses a hinge and spring arrangement similar to the serpentine. Smooth hardwood stock, with scroll and floral scrimshawed ivory panels, in addition to bone floral vine inlays and border outlines on each side, along with a merman with a serpent emerging from his tail on the left opposite the lock, a 2 1/2 inch wide ball pommel with contrasting hardwood quadrants, and a pommel cap disc with a carved grotesque face.
