Thomas Commeraw Stoneware Jug with Impressed Decoration, Manhattan, NY, circa 1805, ovoid jug with tooled spout and rounded base. Stamped in five rows with the words "Commeraws/Stoneware /Commeraws/ Corlears/ Hook/ N. York" An impressed drape and tassel design is filled with vibrant cobalt blue. The impressed words and handle terminals are also highlighted in cobalt. The jug is in good condition with a piece of kiln furniture embedded in the front of the jug that took place during firing. Unique rare piece.
