This fantastic Brush Holder is decorated all the way around! This brush holder is from Southern China. The flowers are called "juhau" and signify hope since they bloom in the Fall rather than the Spring. The painted scene is educational in nature and themed to a certain school, type of thought, and particular moralistic statement. The theme of this peice is of the Master giving instructions to a student. The writing across the top is of the family and school that this particular brush holder came from. This one is approx. 150 years old and has the certification sticker.
