Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1721–1793) who was also the only man to also sign the Articles of Association, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution. ADS, signed six times in the text, one page, 7.5 x 12.5, August 4, 1764. Land purchase agreement between Sherman and John Pierpont for a parcel of land called “Millrock Swamp” in New Haven, with Sherman paying sixteen pounds for the four acre tract. Signed in the text six times by Sherman, who also dockets the reverse, “John Pierpont’s Deed to Roger Sherman.” In good condition, with separations along all intersecting storage folds, small tape repairs to three of the folds, pencil notations on reverse, chipping to horizontal edges, and scattered light toning and soiling. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
