Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1721–1793) who was also the only man to also sign the Articles of Association, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution. Manuscript DS, one page, 7.75 x 6.25, October 27, 1783. Sherman orders the sheriff of Litchfield County Connecticut or the Constables of Watertown to bring Asa Leavenworth to court to “answer unto David Warmer…that the defendant in and by a certain writing…promised the Plaintiff for value received to pay him the sum of Four Pounds silver money…the Defendant not regarding hath never performed tho’ often requested and demanded, which is to the damage of the Plaintiff.” Document is affixed to a slight larger heavy stock sheet. In very good condition, with several partial separations along intersecting folds, two folds through single letters of signature, scattered light toning, and paper loss to lower right corner.
