Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Hampshire (1729–1795). ADS, one page, 7.25 x 2.25, June 23, 1764. Promissory note signed in the text by Bartlett. In part: “Rec’d the 23d Day of June 1764 of Josiah Bartlett four pounds fifteen shillings…in part for keeping school in Kingston.” Three vertical folds, one through a single letter of signature, uneven bottom edge, and some scattered light foxing, otherwise fine condition.
