<B>Declaration Signer Dr. Benjamin Rush Autograph Manuscript</B></I> titled <I>References to texts of Scripture related to each other upon particular Subjects.</B></I> This handwritten booklet of approximately 32 pages is 4" x 6.5" in size and includes Rush's writings on topics such as "Universal Salvation," "Kindness to Strangers," "The Sabbath," "Revealed Arts & Human Knowledge," "Efficacy of Prayer," and, interestingly "God's Particular Moral Government." All have various scriptural references along with his comments. In addition to being a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Rush attended the Continental Congress, and was a physician, writer, educator, and humanitarian. He founded the private Dickinson College, a liberal arts institute, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and was the best-known physician in America at the time of his death. Very good condition; light foxing and dampstaining with one small tear at the spine in the paper wrap, yet complete and boldly penned. Also included is a 1948 Typed Letter Signed by legendary autograph dealer Mary Benjamin attributing the booklet to Benjamin Rush as well as a typewritten transcript. From the Henry E.
