c1897-1928-Lot of 5: These companies all operated in close proximity or actually in Death Valley. The oldest, "Amargosa Mining and Milling" certificate, is medallion stamped 1897. Quite ornate, with mining vignettes at each corner, and at each vertical border also. There is a large vignette in the left top corner of miners working to fill an ore bucket. Serial No. 568, for 1500 shares, signed by the president and secretary. The reverse side has not been executed. 2 is the "Grapevine Mining Company of Nevada" of Goldfield for 200 shares. The embossed medallion date is 1905. There are 3 vignettes across the top, all different depictions. There are light folds at the thirds, and a small stain on the left side corner. The reverse has not been executed. 3 is the "Death Valley-Arcalvada Consolidated Mines Company" for 500 shares. The embossed medallion date is 1907. The central vignette across the top depicts 4 miners drilling and hard-rock mining, very detailed. The reverse has been executed. 4 is the "Tecopa Consolidated Mining Company," medallion date of 1907, serial No. 3698, for 300 shares. The detailed central vignette is of Chief Tecopa. This is a larger certificate, measuring 11.25"x9". There is a fold line on the left side, otherwise in excellent condition. 5 is for the "World Exploration Company" dated 1928, serial No. 7050, for 100 shares. They operated in Skookum, inside Death Valley itself. The border features miner vignettes at the corners and in the vertical bars of the very ornate scroll print. The central vignette features a panorama scene of a large mining and milling operations in the hills. There are fold lines at the thirds, otherwise in excellent condition. HKA#64111
