<B>George Hearst Stock Certificate for Deadwood Mine.</B></I> Unused stock certificate issued by the George Hearst Gold and Silver Mining Company, 7.5" x 10", Deadwood, Dakota Territory, ca. 1880s. This beautiful financial document features a central vignette of miners and is rendered in gold, green and red inks. Signed by J.H. Flynn, Secretary and Robert James, President. Embossed with the company's seal, which carries an 1886 incorporation date. An exciting relic of Deadwood's days as a bustling mining community. Spectacular "as new" condition. Hearst was one of the late 19th century's more powerful magnates and is also well-known as the father of newspaper giant William Randolph Hearst.
