Day’s patent style percussion under hammer cane gun, circa mid 19th century in good condition with wood grip. The cane measures 35-1/2” overall, barrel portion approx 30-1/2” and approx. 52 cal smooth bore. Themetal portions show appox. 30-50% painted finish to resemble wood. The metal shows some light pitting and erosion. There is a stamp “W” or “M” near the rear portion and probably a maker’s mark with British proofs. The grip portion is good and shows a couple small losses where wood meets metal. The action works well and good condition overall. From an old New York collector’s estate. Est.; $500-$1,000.
