Crafted from his painstaking detailed research and studio documents of the original ultimate pacifist themed Sci-Fi classic "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (1951), this massive Head piece is the exact size as the original. Of course Gort was alien Klaatu's Robot that helped him show the world that after all the violence of WWII they must now lay down their weapons and live peacefully, or he will destroy Earth before it destroys itself. Barton, though his Fred Barton Productions, is the exclusive manufacturer and licensee of many of the Sci-Fi Classis of the last sixty years. The Gort head comes with an official Fred Barton Productions Numbered Limited Edition plaque. This Gort Head reproduction comes from legendary Jerry Neeley's collection. Neeley was the well known film historian, writer, collector and owner of the famous "Jerry's Video" in Los Feliz, CA. Customers, collectors and throngs of directors, writers and industry people would come from around the world to talk to Jerry, whose knowledge and memory of film, especially when it came to Sci-Fi, was encyclopedic, and also to visit his famous collection. Also included is a Letter of Provenience from Jerry Neeley's widow and co-owner of his various video and memorabilia shops. The three castings are approx 3"z5", 4"x6" and 2"x4".
