Artist David Lloyd's art is dark and moody throughout (it was designed to be printed in black-and-white, rather than the color the DC editions added), like the 1930's gangster-movie comics Moore and Lloyd originally set out to create. With minimal captions, no sound effects, and few thought balloons, there's a heavy burden on the artist to communicate the story, and Lloyd does a bang-up job. The overall page size is 13" x 19.5" with an image area of 10" x 14.5". The art is well-kept and clean, with a small area of staining at the bottom near the center, and some of the white-out has come off around the word balloons. <B>Estimate: $800-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
