Exceedingly scarce original 4 x 2.5 carte-de-visite photo of Farragut and Drayton on the deck of the Hartford in 1864, signed on the reverse in black ink, “D. G. Farragut, Rear Admiral,” and “P. Drayton, Captain.” Reverse also bears a notation in another hand, “Deck of the Hartford, Mobile Bay, Oct 1864.” In very good condition, with tear to right edge of border and image, image slightly peeling off backing, scattered light silvering and toning to reverse.
