Flown miniature aluminum 'lunar rover license plate' carried to the lunar surface on Apollo 15, measuring approximately 1.25è x .75è, marked with the registration number "LRV 001," with "MOON" as the home state, the year 1971, and the NASA and Boeing logos in the corners. Astronaut Dave Scott carried this in his A7L-B space suit pocket on all three lunar EVAs, including on the lunar rover. In fine condition. Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance signed by Apollo 15 Commander Dave Scott, in part: "I hereby certify that the accompanying Metal Rover License Plate, numbered 'LRV 001'‰Û_was carried by me on the lunar surface during the Apollo 15 exploration of the Hadley Apennine, July 6‰ÛÒAugust 7, 1971‰Û_In commemoration of the first use of the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV), the first vehicle to be driven on another world, I designed and had produced these small license plate replicas for use as presentation mementos after our mission to the Moon."
