Powell, Dave. 1954- . Born in Kalispell to famous artists Ace Powell and Nancy McLaughlin and spent time at their studio in Hungry Horse, Montana. Worked with Bob Scriver as a teenager, helping make molds for the sculptor of the larger than life “Lewis and Clark” now in Fort Benton. Also studied with Ned Jacob and Robert Lougheed. Worked on providing costumes and designing props/models for films and productions including the “Life and Times of Grizzly Adams”, “Silverado”, and “Lonesome Dove”. Works in various mediums; well known for the cowboy genre. Elected to Cowboy Artists of America. These sketches were preliminary works to pieces commissioned by Scotty Zion.
