The soldiers were essentially deaf to each other. The Queen was the ear, voice, heart, and soul of the hive. They lived on Her every whim, moved on Her every urge." This passage is from the illustrated novel, Aliens: Tribes, written by Stephen R. Bissette, and illuminated with 24 magnificent, full-color paintings by Dave Dorman, for which Dorman won an Eisner Award. Painted in oils on a gessoed sheet of illustration board, this vibrant image of the Queen Mother, sitting atop her eggs will send a shiver down your spine. Even though his colors are beautiful, Dorman manages to chill us with this ghastly, haunting image. The art size is 10" x 15" with a black matte, which measures 15.5" x 19". On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
