Baseball Hall of Famer who was a member of the 1921 and 1922 World Series champion Giants teams. Rare gold Hall of Fame plaque card signed in blue ballpoint, “Dave Bancroft.” In fine condition, with some of the emulsion at the top of the card erased to allow the ink to adhere. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, postmarked January 20, 1972, with Bancroft penning his full name and return address at the upper left corner. Bancroft’s death in 1972, just a year after his induction to Cooperstown, makes his Hall of Fame card one of the scarcest of all.
