Dassa Signed and Factory Engraved F. LLI Pietta Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver with Box

This example is a replica of the engraved Colt model 1851 Navy Robert E. Lee carried. There is an ample amount of expertly executed floral scroll engraving. The revolver is signed "inc Dassa" to the right of the trigger guard. The Dassa brothers have performed engraving for manufacturer's such as Beretta and Krieghoff on their high end shotguns. The barrel, trigger and cylinder are blue. The loading lever, frame and hammer are color casehardened and the grip straps are silver plated. Fitted with a smooth nicely figured one piece walnut grip with piano style varnish. This revolver was featured in the Fall of 2013 edition of "Guns of the Old West" magazine. The consignor notes that it is a one off prototype revolver that was engraved by Dassa and then sent to Doug Turnbull for finishing. With the original box numbered to the gun and a printout of the article.
