<B>Daniel Keyes: <I>Flowers for Algernon</B></I></B></I> <B>with Signature Card Laid In and the April, 1959 Issue of <I>The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction</B></I></B></I> <B>Containing the Original Story.</B></I> (New York: Harcourt, Brace & World, 1966), first edition, 274 pages, gray cloth with blue titles, 8vo (5.75" x 8.25"), dust jacket. This was the author's first novel, first appearing as a short story and winning the 1960 Hugo Award. It later won a Nebula Award in 1969 and was the basis for the film <I>Charly.</B></I> Number 51 on David Pringle's list of 100 Best Science Fiction novels. There is a signature card laid signed "<I>Daniel Keyes</B></I>". Included is a copy of <I>The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction,</B></I> April 1959, which contains the first printing of the short story "Flowers of Algernon." The book is in fine condition, with light age toning to the text edges.
