Available in this lot we have a copy of Daniel Boone and the hunters of Kentucky by W. H. Bogart. This hardcover book was published in 1876 by Porter & Coates, located in Philadelphia. William Henery Bogart (1810- 1888) was a New York lawyer, journalist, author, and historian. He is best known for "Daniel Boone and The Hunters of Kentucky" which he wrote to try and preserve the history of Boone rather than be lost to folk stories. This book is a collection and compilation of records and accounts of Daniel Boone with as much accuracy as the author could find. The book shows numerous black and white illustrations through out the book depicting events and scenes. The cover shows a dark red cloth cover with black pressed designs with gilt gold lettering along the spine reading "Daniel Boone - Porter & Coates". The book shows good condition overall with some light wear across the cover and spine. The book measures 7 3/4" tall by 5 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" thick.
