Called "agonga" they could be used a cymbols or struck gongs in the various rituals that always were accompanied by music. Several tribes used these in the Southern Mindanao region of the Philippines. This pair were purchased from a "selling Museum" in Zamboanga, not far from the city proper (whites should NOT go far from any city in that region !) Excellent condition, early 20th C. of patinated White Bronze, and 6-1/2" across, they have nice embossing and 2-concentric rows of punched decoration on the upper surfaces. Scarce and useable.
