Dallas Buyers Club Texas Wildflower Painting
From the multi-award winning “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013), comes the instantly recognizable original iconic “Texas Wildflowers” painting that Academy Award Winner Matthew McConaughey gives to his doctor, Jennifer Garner. In the story, this is McConaughey's most treasured possession. It was painted by McConaughey’s mother and represents to him a peaceful time in his life. It is used throughout the film as a symbol for the roller-coaster of hope and dashed dreams that befall him. Instead of giving Garner flowers when he takes out for a special night at dinner, he gives her his "Texas Wild Flowers". Garner is extremely moved and promises to hang it up in her apartment. However when, after battles with the bureaucracy that is her hospital the agonizing and frustrating hypocrisy and greed of the FDA, she violently nails the painting to her wall and leaves it hanging crooked. However, in the end, summing strength from McConaughey in one of the truly most tender moments in film, she gently gets up and strengths the crooked painting on her wall to "make it right". In her way, trying to adjust, to forgive, and to hope. Rarely has a prop become such a "star" in a motion picture. It had such importance that the painting was created by the production's Graphic Designer Roger Johnson, after an enormous about of research and discussions with director Jean-Marc Vallée to “make it right” (including painting it with his left hand, being right handed, to give it that “amateur artist” look). This amazing piece of film history comes from Roger Johnson's own personal collection. Not only is this the original hero painting, but the frame is also the original frame used in the film as well. Comes with a Letter of Provenience from Roger Johnson. Painting is 18"x23". This item also comes with a Movie Props DNA: This item now includes three levels of security: 1) DNA laced invisible ink – a 9-digit code laced with DNA ink is placed on an appropriate place of the prop/costume and can be only viewed using a high-frequency UV light. The chances of replicating the specific DNA sequence which is unique to MPDNA is 1 in 33 trillion. 2) Archival Microchip Encrypted Tag - a patented, acid-free, 1"x 3" tag with an encrypted microchip is placed onto the Certificate of Authenticity. The microchip contained within the tag contains all of the pertinent information about the prop or costume. The tag is tamper proof and the microchip is encrypted, making it impossible to duplicate.? 3) The certificate also has the 9-digit DNA invisible ink mark which must match the 9-digit invisible ink mark on the prop. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
