Dale Chihuly (American, b. 1941) Radiant Yellow Persian Set Black Lip Wrap
Suffused with molten-sunlight color, this two-element Persian set captures the lyrical movement that defines Chihuly’s studio glass. Translucent saffron bodies are feathered with evenly spaced canes that radiate from the center like growth rings; the dramatically ruffled rims are finished with a glossy jet-black wrap that crisply outlines every undulation. Light pools in the fluted interiors and ricochets across the exterior ridges, making the forms appear to breathe when viewed from different angles.

First unveiled at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Palais du Louvre, in 1986, the Persian series pushed glassblowing toward larger, more eccentric silhouettes while paying homage to archaeological fragments and marine life. The series remains a cornerstone of Chihuly’s practice and a favorite among museum curators and private collectors for its exuberant color play and sculptural dynamism.

Each sculpture measures approximately 8.25 in L × 6.25 in W × 6.5 in H (21 × 16 × 17 cm). The artist’s signature is etched along the side wall. These are circa mid-1990s
