A group of three different Homestake certificates dated between 1880 and 1926. 1) Dakota Territory~ Homestake Mining Company: Incorporated in 1877, Cert. #2538, issued to George G. Farnham for twenty five shares in 1880. Signed by J.B. Haggin as president. Over the years, Haggin was associated with Lloyd Tevis, George Hearst and Marcus Daly in different mining ventures. The famous Homestake mine was one of the most prolific and long running gold mines in U.S. history. Indians on a bluff vignette. Black and blue on crème. Stamp and hole cancels. 10 ¼ x 7.
