It was produced by W.R. Cross of Niobrara, Nebraska. Description on the back reads “publisher of wild Indian and bad land scenery, military forts and Indian Schools on the Missouri, D.T. There is also a handwritten note on the back written in pencil that reads “Post Indian Traders Store, Fort Sully D.T. A Townsend. July 13, 1885.” Photo shows several men and a young girl standing outside a wooden building. This photo documents the fort known as “new Fort Sully,” built in 1868.
