For your consideration are three daguerreotypes in their original cases circa 1840-1890s. The first in this collection shows a gold painted case with a small hook and loop to lock the case. The interior shows a burnt orange colored felt cushion on the left side while the right side houses the photo in a gold colored frame. The photo shows a nicely dressed young man with what appears to be a sheriffs star pinned to his jacket. The second in this collection shows a black colored case with scroll and geometric designs on the case. The interior of the case shows a burnt orange felt cushion on the left side, while the right shows the photo encases in a gold colored frame. The photo shows a young woman in a beautiful dress sitting in a chair as she looks towards the viewer. This photo shows some fading. The last daguerreotype in this collection is housed in a black case with floral designs surrounding a vase with flowers in the center. The interior shows a red wine colored felt cushion with a design set in the center. The photo is on the opposite side, housed in a gold colored frame. The photo shows a middle aged woman by the name of Elizabeth M. Hays sitting in a chair holding her hands together. This photo has been hand tinted as you can see the gold coloring in her jewelry. The cases show good condition overall with only one having the front being detached from the rest of the case. The photos show good condition with little wear present. The cases measure 2 7/8" L x 2 1/2" W x 9/16" D and have a collective weight of 164.9 grams.
