DWM World War I Gewehr 98 Rifle, Reworked as a World War II 98K, with Sling and Bayonet
Originally produced in 1916, and later fitted with an Erma marked 98k length barrel and K98-style stock. Blade and tangent sights, with "DO 130/38", "ERMA", "eagle/ 77" and "WaA655" on the barrel, "crown/ gothic letter" proofs on the receiver and "Gew.98" in gothic lettering on the sidewall. Milled components. Smooth stock with forearm grooves, a Totenkopf (death's head) SS stamped on the pistol grip (behind rear trigger guard screw), and a flat buttplate. With a brown leather sling and a Durkopp (Halle) bayonet dated 38 with a 9 7/8" blade, ribbed grip and sheath.

Condition: Very fine as arsenal refurbished/ reworked, showing 95% of the arsenal blue, with pitting on the receiver and barrel bands, a gray patina on the trigger guard and floor plate, and scattered handling marks. Stock is fine, with areas of arsenal patched wood, and mild dents. Sling is excellent, and the bayonet is excellent with some bright wear. Mechanically excellent.
