DWM Stoeger Marked Model 1920 Luger
This is an example of a 1920s era Stoeger Luger. These pistol were originally based on reworked military or commercial lugers that were sold after WWI, exclusively by the Stoeger Arms Corp, as the sole agent for sales in the US. It is reported that less than 1000 total were sold and this model has the correct style markings on the right side of the barrel extension which are "A.F. STOEGER INC/NEW YORK". This specific pistol was probably a rework of a military model as it has a letter suffix on the serial number with a blank chamber area with the "DWM" logo on the rear toggle with "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" marked extractor and safety area. The left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel are both proofed with a single "Eagle N" proofmark with no other proofmarks on the pistol anywhere. It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and is complete with a nickel plated magazine with a wooden base.
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 7.65 mm Luger Auto
Finish: blue/straw colors
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 4449o

Partially refinished (barrel and receiver), with the balance retaining much of the faded original rust blued finish with minor edge and high spot wear overall. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice sharp defined checkering on both sides showing only some minor light handling marks. The wooden base in the magazine has a slight crack, that could be easily restored. A good representative example of an A.F. Stoeger Marked post-war Luger pistol.
