This is an example of a post WWI DWM Model 1920 Navy Commercial rework Luger. This series of Lugers were all originally WWI era 1914 models that were reworked/assembled after WWI under the auspices of the Versailles Treaty, with all being sold in Europe and the U.S. These Lugers are a different variation than those that were issued under the Reichswehr that carry the 1920 chamber date. This example has the correct six-inch Navy length barrel with the correct, two-position Navy rear sight. The left side of the barrel extension is stamped with a "Crown/N" Commercial proof with the left side of the barrel and front frame both stamped "GERMANY", indicating export. It still retains the original "DWM" logo on the front toggle, and is numbered in the commercial fashion with serial numbers on the side plate, trigger, and takedown lever, with the other parts being unnumbered. The barrel is also correctly unmarked other than the export marking notes above. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips with a nickel plated, wood base Navy magazine that is marked on base with the "Crown/M/2527".
BBL: 6 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 30 Luger Auto
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 2410o
Condition:
Very fine with 95% of theoriginal blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots, with light thinning on the grip straps. The replacement refinished grips are very fine, with nice distinct checkering with a light coat of tru-oil or varnish over the checkering, (they have not been sanded). A fine example of a post WWI DWM 1920 Navy Commercial Luger pistol.
