DWM Model 1909/20 Commercial Navy Style Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is an example of a 1920s reworked Navy Commercial Luger on a grip safety variant 1906/20 short frame. These pistols were reworked after WWI to boost the German economy. This specific pistol has an extractor marked "Geladen" on both sides and the bright area on the lower safety position. It has the characteristic Navy six-inch barrel with the two position (100 and 200 meter) rear sight, grip safety, and unmarked blue magazine with a wooden base with concentric circles on the side. The top of the chamber is blank and the toggle lug bears the DWM scroll. The left side of the barrel extension has a "Crown/N" proof, "GERMANY" and the serial number. The bottom of the barrel is marked with a "Crown/N" and "Crown/M" proof, and the matching serial number is also marked on the front of the frame and bottom of the barrel. Fitted with checkered walnut grips. Each grip panel is stamped "38" on the inside.

Very fine as arsenal/retailer refurbished with 99% blue finish remaining and 90% straw color remaining on the small parts. The grips are very fine with a few tiny nicks, some mild wear and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
