This is an example of a Third Issue Model 1908 DWM Military Luger. Blade front and notch rear sights, with "1910" date on top of the chamber and "DWM" monogram on the toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has a pair of "crown/gothic script" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle firing proof which is repeated on the barrel and breechblock. Barrel and frame are both correctly numbered, with matching partial numbers on the takedown latch, side plate, trigger, sear, safety and rear toggle. The front strap is stamped "J.R.72.10.5.", which is attributed by the consignor to the 4th Thuringian Infantry, Regiment 72, Company 10, formed in 1860 and assigned to the Eastern Front in World War I.
