DWM Model 1906 Swiss "Cross In Shield" Variation Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster

This is an example of a Swiss Model 1906 military contract Luger pistol that was manufactured by the DWM factory with the "Cross in Shield" crest on the chamber and DWM logo on the front toggle. Originally these were thought to have been specifically made under a Swiss Police contract, however current thinking is that these models were intended as a non-commercial sales pistols intended for either the Military or Police. There were approximately 5,200 total made in two separate blocks of serial number with this example made in the first block. The safety area is correctly polished in the lower position with no markings. It has the distinctive fast taper barrel, 1906 style grip safety with no stock lug, flat toggles and correct Swiss Cross proof on the various parts. The pistol has one original Swiss nickel plated magazine with the wooden base and the circular inserts on the sides. Complete with an original second pattern Swiss contract leather holster. The back side is stamped "E. HINTERMANN/SATTLER/GATTIKON(Zurich)08".

Excellent with 97% of the arsenal blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 90% of their straw colors overall. The grips are excellent with nice distinct sharp checkering. The holster is very good with nice markings on the back with a slightly faded appear to the leather on the front of the holster with nice tight stitching. Matching numbers except the magazine.
