DWM Model 1906 Dutch Contract Luger Pistol Rig

This is a very nice example of a scarce prewar Dutch contract Luger as manufactured by DWM. These are really a very scarce Luger as most saw heavy use in the Dutch East Indies with a considerable number captured by the Japanese at the start of WWII. These early pistols are very distinctive in that they have the Geladen marked extractor (both sides) and the safety lever area is marked "RUST", the Dutch word for safe. The top of the chamber is unmarked, the top of the toggle is marked with the DWM markings. The right side of the barrel extension is unmarked and the left side has the "Crown/W", Dutch Wilhelmina proof and the bottom of the barrel is numbered to the pistol frame. These early contract pistols have the early desirable 1906 features such as the grip safety, blank chamber, nicely blued finish and straw colored parts. Most of these Lugers were arsenal rebuilt prior to WWII and were stamped with the rebuild date on top of the barrel. This example is correctly dated "1939" over the top chamber area of the barrel with "GS" stamped farther up the barrel. It also still retains its original brass unit plate on the side of the frame, which is marked, "M.L. DeP./11". The pistol is complete with an original nickel plated Dutch contract magazine with a unmarked wooden base with the correct flat spring retaining clip on the bottom and the original coarse checkered grips. This Luger is complete with an early unmarked Dutch Contract pattern leather holster. The holster still retains the original brass cleaning rod with the blued steel oiler compartment on the end of the rod.
