PISTOL W/ HOLSTER. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 14177. Bbl. 4 3/4" w/ fin shaped front sight plus full matching number & very sm. proofs on each side of bbl. at midpoint. Police model indicated by Swiss Cross in shield over chamber. 10,215 mfg. to include Swiss military variant within S# range 10001-15215. Flat toggles, narrow trigger guard, wide trigger, serrated safety lever (safe position polished bright), grip safety, no stock lug, strawed small parts & appropriate internal areas in the white. No visible cross rework marks but 2 inspector rework marks; Cross & V of Herr Vogelsang on left side of receiver plus Cross & M of Colonel Muhlemann on right. Matching numbers on receiver, sear, trigger, takedown lever, sideplate, grip safety, GELADEN marked extractor, breech block & both toggles. Checkered walnut grips w/ faint markings on backs; “5” on right & “E” on left. MAGS: 1 good to very good 8 rd. Tin plated w/ couple spots of cleaned light pitting. Unmarked wood base w/ discs in dimples. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good holster w/ shoulder strap having boxed Cross & K proof on straps plus unreadable maker’s mark in oval between belt loops w/ 23 stamped below. Flap holster w/ stud & strap retention having spare mag. pouch on top w/ stud & flap retention. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance w/ quality Swiss arsenal refinish having exceptional straw colors. Very faint high point wear on front of frame, right grip screw, outer edge of sear & upper most point of sideplate. Top of front sight w/o finish being stoned to regulate elevation point of impact. Safety area polishing exceptionally well done. Very good to excellent grips w/ especially fine fit to frame. Near excellent bright bore w/ hint of wear. Exceptional Swiss Luger w/ distinct thumbnail profile at top of front strap & correct toggle pivot retaining pin. PROVENANCE: Formerly of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess Collection. (22-5659/NW).
