AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 7140i. Bbl. 3 7/8" with full serial number, crown N proof & fin shaped front sight. Mfg. 1921 (dated over chamber) by DWM for sales distribution by Krieghoff. Rear of frame marked "KRIEGHOFF SUHL" having characteristic flaws in the marking: additional mark above first F in Krieghoff plus O looks like backwards C; both flaws due to damaged die. Right front side of receiver has "GERMANY" export mark. Straw colored small parts plus appropriate internal areas are in the white. Approx. 5,000 mfg. including side marked models numbered within 2190i-9900i. Those in 9mm Luger cal. had 4" bbls.; 30 Luger models had 3 7/8" bbls. to conform with non military terms within the Treaty of Versailles. This pistol featured on Pg. 610 in Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess' book "The Borchardt and Luger Automatic Pistols". Checkered beech grips without markings on backs. Items numbered 40 are: sideplate, takedown lever, trigger, rear toggle and breech block. Extractor numbered 17; no other numbered parts. MAGS: correct tin plated 8 rd. w/ wood base having remnants of "GERMANY" mark. Very good overall with dull finish. CONDITION: near excellent overall appearance to include straw colors and internal sections. Missing spring for takedown lever. Occasional very faint grip marks. Very good bore with hint of frosting.
