The top of the chamber is marked "1920/1921". The toggle marked "DWM" for Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken, the original manufacturer. The bottom of the barrel is marked with the serial number, "8.83", "GERMANY 9MM P 08" and import mark. The pistol has a stock lug, sear safety, cut out for a magazine safety (not included), checkered grips and blue magazine with an aluminum base, restamped "1496" to match the pistol. All previous markings were ground off. Complete with an altered black leather flap holster marked ""S.D. L.. 200" (punched over), over 4163" and unreadable over "414" on the back.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 1496
Condition: Arsenal refinished with 90% plus of the blue finish remaining. The left side of the frame has a dark mottled smooth patina and there is overall high edge wear. There is some small areas of pin prick type pitting on the toggle and top of the barrel. Most of the straw color remains on the small components, with a smooth mottled gray on the balance. The grips are recheckered, with some scattered minor dings and are good. The magazine has been non-professionally restored. Mechanically fine. The holster is good as altered with some absent stitching between the belt loops and along the front where a cleaning rod pouch was, now has a magazine pouch. There is some moderate flex cracking on the body, overall the leather is supple and all the stitching, (unless mentioned above), is tight.
