Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 36715. Bbl. 6" w/ fin shaped front sight, full S# and crown B crown G over crown U proofs (very faint "118,35" between proofs and serial number); 100-200 rear sight on toggle. Undated over chamber, crown B crown U on left front of receiver, "15" on lug plus "15" on bottom of sear. Frame is safe with lever up exposing polished bright area; not marked GESICHERT or with import marks. "15" on grip safety, trigger, takedown lever and sideplate. Both toggles, breech block and "GELADEN" marked extractor all numbered 15. Checkered walnut grips only with "L" on left and "C" on right. Per Luger book by Sturgess small batch orders shipped to Broqua and Scholberg (department store in Montevideo, Uruguay) within S# range of 36400 to 37300 (second larger shipment); he also refers to these as Commercial P.04. Book on Lugers by Davis uses title designation. Consignor states that he acquired the pistol from a rancher near Montevideo in 1974. MAGS: 2 tin plated 8 rd. with plain, unmarked wood bases; no concentric circles. Very good appearance with somewhat satin tone and occasional small amount of staining. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: exceptional appearing stock set with matching numbered iron having tight fit to pistol. Black holster with broken lift strap; polished appearance to body and satin tone to flap having brown underside; black tool pouch and back inside of holster (front inside is brown). Brass cleaning rod with oiler handle. Very good original appearing loading tool. Very good original strap set w/ blued belt clip and dual mag. pouch. No visible markings on back of holster or stock. Exceptional rig w/ slight high point wear to iron, slightly wrinkled appearance to cleaning rod tube and very good ears on cleaning rod flap. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance with minimal high point wear at common points such as stock lug area, sideplate and at muzzle. Receiver proofs somewhat faint and less defined to those on barrel. Very light staining on safety lever; balance of strawed parts very good. Very good grips with light hand wear slightly flattening diamond tops. Good bore with light wear and even frosting. (22-5552/ZAL). CURIO. $8,500-14,500.
