DUTCH RESISTANCE ADOLF HITLER  MOURNING  CARD
In a take-off on the German tradition of printing mourning cards for deceased soldiers, following Hitler's suicide the tenacious Dutch resistance printed Adolf Hitler "mourning" cards, of which this is an example. It measures 4 1/4" x 6" with a black border and reads, in part: "...With great joy we give notice of the much anticipated death of the world's greatest war criminal ADOLF HITLER Former Painter Knight in the order of the hooked cross with sugar beets and flower bulbs, holder of the Medal of Lies. He died of a severe case of Blitzkrieg illness, combined with Invasion Fever...The burial will take place in the garbage dump near Amsterdam...The deceased has asked not to throw any bombs...On behalf of the family...Gruppenfuhrer Rauter...". SS General Hans Rauter commanded all Waffen-SS and police forces in Holland and was executed in 1949. A crease or two, else very good. Rare!
