Magnificent ANTIQUE German figural or scenic musical grouping from the early part of the
20th Century (early 1900 s).
Here is a happy group gathered around the harpsicord.
Imagine Mother is playing a minuet by Haydn or Mozart while
the children dance. Father, interrupted from his reading comes
to join the group. The figures all wear meticulously detailed 18th
century clothing. The group is all hand painted. Fine details
such as fingers and flowers are meticulously molded. The faces
are lovely and expressive and the figures beautifully caught in
action. This grouping is certainly a supreme achievement of
central German ceramic art

Measures 15-1/2 x 10 x 10-1/2 inches

Sitzendorfer (formerly Voigt Brothers) crown mark, on
bottom with German export mark. Made at Sitzendorf,
Thuringia, Germany.
Circa 1902

Very Good overall condition. The girl has one broken finger (see
photo). Some other fine details may also have very minor flea
bites--as you would expect on a piece of this type and age.
There is a minor flaw to the glaze finish (on the platform) behind
the young lady on the far right. No major damage to be found.

type china and figures as well as fine antiques.
