Beautiful and very large hand painted compote; demonstrates the finest traditions of antique Dresden porcelain. It is a stunning work of art.

Four young adults?two men, two women?dance in a circle
on a flower strewn field. A tall gold trimmed trunk rises from the
center. It is topped with a scalloped and reticulated fruit bowl.
The bowl is painted inside with flowers and decorated outside
with bountiful applied blossoms and gold. The four dancers
wear colorful peasant clothes. They have lovely, delicately
detailed faces. The women have an art nouveau/jugendstil look.

Measures 20-1/4 inches tall. The bowl is
13-1/4 in
diameter. Each figure is about 8 inches and
the base is 10.

Very good overall condition. There is
minor damage to a few of the
flowers, and one man has a broken thumb
(see photo). These
kind of minor flaws are common for this type
of item, and often most
pieces have many more. There are no other
dings, cracks or
repairs.
