<B>DOLLIE NABINGER (1905-1988)</B></I><BR><I>Springtime in Texas</B></I><BR>Oil on canvas<BR>27in. x 33in.<BR>Signed lower left<BR>Titled verso<BR><BR>Dollie Nabinger was a student of James McCan for seven years while she lived in Victoria, Texas. She then attended the Art Students League, New York, for two years. Her art technique was further developed after study in San Antonio with Jose Arpa and Harry Anthony DeYoung. In 1955, she studied for a summer at the Academie Julian in Paris.<BR><BR>Nabinger lived for about a decade in the Nacogdoches area. The prevalence of Spanish moss in the oak tree suggests this is an East Texas bluebonnet scene, rather than a Hill Country scene.<BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent original condition with some cracking of thickly applied paint.
