Rare one shilling note signed by Declaration of Independence Signer and Continental Congress member John Hart. Front of note is dated 25 March 1776 and designates the ''One Shilling'' amount with a proclamation ''emitted by a Law of the Colony of New Jersey, passed in the Fourteenth Year of the Reign of his Majesty King George the Third''. With three signatures to front, including ''Rob Smith'', ''John Hart'' and ''John Steven June''. Verso has an illustration of a leaf with ''Burlington in New Jersey / Printed by Isaac Collins, 1776'' at bottom. Measures 3.75'' x 2''. Some toning and foxing. Very good.
