<B>DOEL REED (1895-1985)</B></I><BR><I>Subject and Materials</B></I><BR>Oil on canvas<BR>29in. x 44in.<BR><BR>This painting is, in effect, a self-portrait of itself. The scene is the Cimarron River, one of Doel Reed's favorite areas to paint. We see that Reed has set up his stool in a shady spot by the river to paint. His portable easel is there and, in fact, what we see on the artist's sketch pad is the drawing which becomes the study for this painting. The sketch on the easel is signed "Doel Reed" and that signature also serves as the signature for this painting.<BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition with minor scattered inpainting and a repair of a one0inch puncture.
