Signed offprint article: ‘Molecular Structure of Nucleic Acids: A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid.’ Off-print from: Nature Vol. 171 (April 25, 1953), 14 pages. Original self-wrappers. Signed on the first page in black ballpoint, “James D. Watson” and black felt tip “Francis Crick.” Includes an attractive custom-made leatherbound clamshell case. In very fine condition. This is the enormously desirable rare first edition off-print of the article announcing the discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA, the single most important breakthrough in the history of the life sciences. An exceedingly scarce example, signed by Watson and Crick on the first page and thus eminently suited for exhibition.
