Cal. 380. S# SAP3804571. Bbl. 5". RPB's entry into the "Micro Mac" semiautomatic pistol market was the tiny M11-A1, open bolt pistol, chambered in .380 ACP. It was designated the M11-A1 so as not to be confused w/ their popular 9mm, M11 Submachine Gun. RPB M11-A1 serial numbers range from 380006 - 38011661. The semiautomatic variants were marked w/ the prefix SAP (semi auto pistol) or SAC (Semiautomatic carbine). While the traditional MAC 10 or even the 9mm M-11 were generally considered "boxey or chunky" in design, the M11-A1 was similar in size to the Colt 1911, though not quite as ergonomic in design. The suppressor users enjoyed the M11-A1s since the 380 ammo was already subsonic, just like the 45ACP and provided a very low sound signature when fired. .Light black parkerized finish. Protected post front sight. Rear peep sight is a hole drilled in the rear receiver extension to coincide w/ the front sight. Slotted charging handle provides an unobstructed view. The action is locked by rotating the charging knob 90-degrees in the closed position. Safety is located on the right side of the receiver, inside the trigger guard. Threaded barrel. Right side receiver marked: SM11-A1 CAL .380 / RPB INDUSTRIES, INC. / ATLANTA, GA. U.S.A.". MAGS: 1 steel 30 rd. CONDITION: Finish is consistent w/ period typical thinning on high spots, typically due to stacking, & in areas of mechanical intervention. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: Lifelong Collection of Terrance McCarty. (24-252/JZ). MODERN. $500-900.
